Slaton Speedway

Located near the airport at 14212 FM 400, the Slaton Speedway is a 1/8 mile dirt oval karting track. They race a variety of go-kart classes. Their schedule can be viewed on their Facebook page every spring when the season opens. They are a family-owned and operated small business that created this track with a passion for racing and providing a fun and safe environment for kids and adults to spend a Saturday night.

Much of this racing is not just for fun. There are pros here that earn sponsor money and a purse they can win that includes corporate contributions. 

Whether you race or not, this is a fun place to spend an evening, and may not cost anything to do so. You can watch the races from outside the pit area, but paying a small fee to access that area provides the ability to view these high-powered carts up close and even meet some of the racers and crews.
