Earl Powell Center in Slaton, Texas

The Earl Powell Activity Center, operated by the Housing Authority of the City of Slaton, Texas, has been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic but may be open now, at least for events. It is an excellent facility with very reasonable pricing.

According to their website, all recognized and responsible organizations will be granted the equal opportunity and fair and equal treatment with respect to granting requests for meeting space. More information is needed on whether individuals can rent the space.

The facility is very nice, with a modern kitchen, tables, chairs, restrooms, and even a basketball court.

Examples of appropriate use for the Earl Powell Center event venues include, though are not limited to educational uses such as Nutrition/Health, Exercise Programs, and Lectures, entertainment such as Holiday Parties and Musical Entertainment, group Activities such as Resident Association Meetings, Spiritual Meetings, Rummage Sales and Bake Sales, Games/Puzzle/Cards.

This event rents for $400 for a weekend, from Friday through Sunday, along with a $200 security deposit which is refundable if the facility is damage free and cleaned. Normal usage is $25 per hour with a four-hour minimum. No reservations are accepted on Holidays.
